DALLAS - The Medicus Firm, a national medical search firm specializing in placement of physicians, will be presenting a bookshelf stocked with hundreds of books Wed., June 16 to benefit children at Buckner International's summer and after-school program at Primera Iglesia Bautista in Dallas.
"We are happy to be able to assist Buckner's Primera Iglesia, as they provide such a wonderful service for so many kids. We have enjoyed getting to know the staff and students, and look forward to continuing our work with them into the future. We hope that the children will enjoy the book collection, and that it will bring smiles to their faces and help grow their passion for learning and reading." -Jim Stone, Managing Partner, The Medicus Firm
Sandra Martinez, Buckner/Primera Iglesia ministry coordinator, said the books will make a big difference in the reading development of children during the long summer months.
"There are a lot of needs here in this community," Martinez said. "These books will help the children read during the summer, which is so important for their education. It will really help them start school on the right foot in the fall," Martinez said.
The Buckner after-school program at Primera Iglesia provides children and families with free tutoring, computer skills training, ESL classes, special events and spiritual enrichment. The program is a ministry of Buckner International, a Dallas-based non-profit that's been serving children and families for 131 years.
