Andrea C. Santiago is the Director of Communications and Media Relations for The Medicus Firm.  As such, she contributes to The Medicus Firm’s physician recruiting blog, DocHunterDiary.com, and to numerous industry publications including New England Journal of Medicine and Executive Healthcare Management.  Additionally, Andrea manages the internet marketing and media presence including social media, media placements and interviews with the executives of the firm.

Ms. Santiago has worked in the medical industry since 1998, initially as a medical documentation consultant, and began recruiting physicians in 2001 with the largest national retained physician recruiting firm.  She has placed, or contributed to, the placement of hundreds of medical professionals including physicians, mid-level providers, allied medical professionals, and medical office staff.

Andrea joined the former MD Firm in 2007 as a recruiter and physician sourcing specialist, and was promoted to Director of Training and Resource Development in 2008.  She received the Associate of the Year award for her contributions to the company throughout 2008, and as of December of 2009 has worked in the current Communications and Media role.

In addition to her role at The Medicus Firm, Ms. Santiago also serves as the Guide to Health Careers for About.com, a New York Times Company.  She is also the featured health career expert on JobRadio.fm providing weekly healthcare job-casts and tips to medical professionals and job seekers.

Ms. Santiago is a graduate of the University of Georgia.  She resides in the Atlanta area with her husband Gabriel.
