Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN Community Resources
The Minneapolis-St. Paul area, collectively referred to as the Twin Cities, is renowned for its cultural and recreational opportunities and beautiful natural surroundings.
The city of Minneapolis encompasses 16 lakes (said to have been formed by Paul Bunyan's footprints) and is noted for its natural beauty and parklands. Living in the Twin Cities, you'll enjoy one of the nation's most economically robust regions, situated among scenic forests, rivers, lakes, parks, and golf courses. The best of both worlds is a reality here.
The Twin Cities came out on top in many “Best” lists, including Inc. Magazine’s “Best Places to Start and Grow a Company,” Money Magazine’s “Best Places to Live,” and author Sandra Gurvis’ “30 Great Cities to Start Out In.”
The Twin Cities region is home to two thriving downtowns, internationally acclaimed orchestras and museums, and five major league sports teams. The Twin Cities area is second only to New York City in arts activities per capita.
The Twin Cities are best known for their rich natural environment. Each season offers ample opportunity to explore the natural world in various contexts. Twin Cities parks and lakes are extensive, with 136,900 acres of parkland and 950 lakes in the metro area alone. Additionally, the metro area offers a wide selection of cultural and entertainment offerings. There are several public museums, private art galleries, music and arts festivals, historic theaters offering drama, comedy, and music, and many cuisine options.
The Twin Cities also offer extensive shopping opportunities for many uniquely Minnesotan goods and services. Downtown Minneapolis has two million square feet of retail, one of the highest concentrations of shops in any city its size. There is no better fit for pure shopping power than the nation's largest shopping center, the Mall of America.
