Memphis, TN Community Resources
Memphis is a city on the Mississippi River in southwest Tennessee, famous for the influential strains of blues, soul, and rock 'n' roll that originated there. It lies on the Chickasaw bluffs where the borders of Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee meet. Memphis is Tennessee’s most populous city and is at the center of the state’s second-largest metropolitan area.
Set in the Mississippi Delta, Memphis is a metro area where the energy of urban living melds with the slow rhythms of the rural South. Marked by historic districts, Mississippi River views, and memorials to cultural legends like Elvis Presley and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., every corner of Memphis is a wonder of Deep South culture. Although it's one of the largest metro areas in the Southeastern U.S., the region's small-town atmosphere fosters a close-knit community that makes it an attractive place for families to settle. Its rich music scene is a magnet to artists looking to give their career momentum, and as a center of global transit and a crossroads of distribution, the area offers a wealth of job opportunities. In addition, Memphis is widely known for its extensive medical and educational facilities.

World-famous Beale Street is always buzzing with activity. Clubs and shops line the streets, and there's always music, often performed live. It's a fun place for both locals and guests to the River City, and it's one of Memphis' most recognized landmarks, with a rich, interesting history. Where the Mississippi runs past the city, five miles of idyllic parks serve as great public spaces for picnics, casual sports, and other outdoor activities. If you tire of strolling through the parks and along the banks, take to the water with a riverboat ride or canoe rental. These are entertaining in their own right, but they also offer some of the best views of Memphis available
With over 60 unique attractions in every corner of the city, you'll find plenty to do in Memphis, whether you are looking for relaxation, excitement, or classic memory-making.In South Memphis, Elvis Presley's Graceland and Stax Museum of American Soul Music should be at the top of your list. Downtown, don't miss the National Civil Rights Museum and other landmarks that tell of Memphis' powerful place in civil rights history, plus exciting activity around the Mississippi Riverfront. Downtown is also where you'll find Beale Street, with three music museums in walking distance: the Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum, Memphis Music Hall of Fame , and The Blues Foundation's Blues Hall of Fame. Nearby in Midtown, explore the award-winning Memphis Zoo
Come see why Memphis is the perfect destination to live, work, and play!
