REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENIST (RDH)

Bremerton, Washington

Position Highlights:

  • Work-Life Balance: Build a schedule that fits your life with four 10s, five 8s or a part-time FTE. Want more? Pick up extra shifts or moonlight on the side.
  • Desirable Practice Setting: Practice at a Federally Qualified Health Center where medical, dental, behavioral health and pharmacy work hand in hand through internal referrals. Bremerton's clinics sit close together.
  • Ideal Work Environment: One patient per hour, one column and zero double booking. You'll average about 7.5 patients a day, giving you time to educate instead of racing the clock, with ultrasonic scalers provided and Athena One and NextGen keeping charts organized.
  • Support & Networking: Receptionists fill cancellations from a recurring waitlist, dental assistants lend a hand when needed and leadership includes a practicing hygienist. You'll also join a peer group of about seven hygienists across the peninsula.
  • Professional Growth Opportunities: New grads can launch their careers in community health with a team that welcomes first-time hygienists.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Financial Package: $95,000 base for 1.0 FTE under either plan, prorated for part-time.
  • Competitive Bonus Opportunity: Earn annual raises of up to 5% through performance reviews, with consistent overachievers eligible for a compensation review. Bilingual? The Flexible Plan adds a $2,500 multilingual stipend,
  • Retention Bonus: Two plans, one big decision. Go Front-Loaded for a $10,000 sign-on bonus paid up front and a retention schedule that peaks at $40,000 in years two and three before stepping down: $30,000, $40,000, $40,000, $35,000, $30,000, $25,000, $20,000, $15,000, $10,000 and $10,000. That's $255,000 over a decade. Prefer a mix? The Flexible Plan pairs a $15,000 sign-on spread over three years with three months of housing covered, $300 a month in loan assistance, enhanced PTO, a bigger CE budget and a $10,000 retention bonus starting after year four.
  • Full Benefits: Build your own coverage with a $7,008 annual cafeteria allowance for medical, dental and vision, and pocket whatever you don't use. Also includes HSA and FSA options, a 403(b), employer-paid life insurance, long-term disability covering 60% of salary, an Employee Assistance Program and malpractice coverage.
  • Relocation Assistance: Apply your sign-on bonus to moving, licensing or credentialing costs with no receipts required. Land softly in an employee studio apartment right in Bremerton with rent deducted through payroll, and get your interview flight reimbursed on day one.
  • Student Loan Repayment Assistance: Work at an NHSC and Washington State loan repayment site with a HPSA score of 16. On the Flexible Plan, PCHS bridges the gap with up to $300 a month while your HRSA application is pending.
  • Professional Growth: The Flexible Plan funds one week of salary plus one week of time for CE each year, which can also cover licensing. The Front-Loaded Plan includes one week of CE hours.
  • Additional Benefits: 11 paid holidays with 6 of them floating, PTO accrual based on your plan plus 16 bonus hours every January, YMCA and Costco memberships and mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications:

  • Degree: Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited dental hygiene program.
  • Certifications: Current CPR certification. Don't have it yet? PCHS will help you get it.
  • Licensure: Washington State Dental Hygiene license and a valid driver's license. Still waiting on your Washington license? Eligible candidates can interview while licensure is in process.
  • Skillset: You thrive on heavier calculus cases and welcome patients returning after a long break. You love teaching prevention
  • Experience: Fresh out of school or years in the chair, all experience levels are welcome.
  • Sponsorship: H-1B sponsorship available for up to six years with support from PCHS's partner immigration law firm. Green card sponsorship is not offered.

About the Area

Bremerton, WA Community Resources

Bremerton, Washington, blends scenic waterfront living with the energy and opportunity of the greater Seattle region—offering a lifestyle that feels both peaceful and connected. Set along the sparkling shores of the Puget Sound, Bremerton is known for its charming neighborhoods, walkable waterfront, and breathtaking mountain and water views. Life here moves at a comfortable Northwest pace, with a community that values the outdoors, local arts, and a genuine sense of belonging.

Outdoor lovers will find endless ways to enjoy Bremerton’s natural beauty. Miles of shoreline, lush forests, and nearby parks make it easy to hike, kayak, paddleboard, or simply unwind by the water. Bremerton itself has a thriving local culture. Its historic downtown is filled with cafés, boutique shops, breweries, galleries, and waterfront dining. The community also takes pride in its naval heritage, anchored by the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Naval Base Kitsap, which contribute to a strong local economy and diverse population. Festivals, farmers markets, and arts events fill the calendar, giving residents plenty of opportunities to connect and explore.

With a lower cost of living than Seattle, a family-friendly atmosphere, and a perfect balance of recreation and convenience, Bremerton offers an exceptional quality of life. Whether you’re looking for peaceful waterfront living, easy access to urban amenities, or a welcoming community with room to grow, Bremerton delivers a lifestyle that truly captures the best of the Pacific Northwest.
