HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY PHYSICIAN

Alabama Gulf Coast – Mobile, AL

Position Highlights

  • Work-Life Balance: 4 clinic days and 1 administrative day per week, with the option to work the admin day remotely. A group that truly values work-life balance.
  • Desirable Practice Setting: Join Infirmary Cancer Care, part of the region's market-leading health system (about 53% market share), with an academic affiliation with the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Practice in a community setting with academic benefits: clinical trials, tumor boards, an academic title, and UAB benefits.

  • Favorable Call Schedule: About 1 week in 5, mostly by phone, and lighter as the group grows. A hospitalist team helps manage oncology inpatients.
  • Culture & Support: A collegial, established group. New physicians are paired with a mentor and ramp up at a tailored pace, starting around 12–15 patients a day.
  • Professional Growth Opportunities: Choose a 100% clinical practice or a 75% clinical / 25% research track. Open to all hem/onc interests, with strong interest in breast oncology.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Relocation Assistance: Negotiable.
  • Student Loan Repayment Assistance: Negotiable.
  • Professional Development: $4,000 a year for CME, with licensing, dues, and subscriptions paid by the clinic.
  • Additional Perks: 4 weeks of time off a year, in a group that trusts its physicians rather than counting days.

Qualifications

  • Degree: MD or DO, with fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology.
  • Certifications: Board-certified preferred; board-eligible candidates considered.
  • Licensure: Alabama medical license, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Skillset: Full-spectrum hematology/oncology. Breast oncology interest is a plus.
  • Experience: Experienced physicians and fellows finishing training are welcome. Clean malpractice history and no CV gaps.

About the Area

Mobile, AL Community Resources

Mobile has a certain magic that keeps you on your toes. Where a melting pot of people, flavors, cultures and traditions become one voice to lead all of life's celebrations. Join the jubilee and welcome every day with an enduring passion and a little soulful hospitality, because life is the ultimate gift. This is the spirit of living. This is what we're born to do.

Mobile, Alabama's oldest and third largest city, is also the state's only seaport, serving as a major industrial, shipping, and shipbuilding center. Located on the Mobile River at the head of the Gulf of Mexico's Mobile Bay, it was an important maritime site during the Civil War and both world wars.

Founded in 1702 as the original capital of the Louisiana Territory and nestled on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico, few other cities can boast such a rich history and prime location.

While steeped in the heritage of a genuinely Southern past, today's Mobile continues to move forward as a truly modern city.

Visitors marvel at the city's sheer beauty—the breathtaking sunsets, lush foliage, famous seafood creations, amazing museums, diverse arts and culture, white-sandy beaches, great golf venues, historic homes and museums, and attractions for the entire family.

Mobile is alive! It kicks, dances, shakes, laughs, respects its history, takes you in its arms, and lulls you to sleep with the breath of a gentle gulf breeze.

Money Magazine consistently rates Mobile in the Top 100 Best Metro Areas in the U.S.
