Academic Gastroenterology – DFW Area
HSC Health consists of 84 clinicians practicing at 13 different, Dallas/Fort Worth-based clinics, including the HSC Health Pavilion, located on the medical school's main campus. Clinicians range from a variety of medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties, including gastroenterology. There are two GI doctors, and one is retiring. The remaining doctor is the fellowship director. There will be students, but we are primarily interested in someone that will be engaged on the clinical side. Nevertheless, candidates must be willing to participate in fellowship education.

We have a contract with John Peter Smith hospital to provide inpatient coverage, this is 6-8 weeks of daytime only inpatient coverage, the fellows take first call. UNT uses NextGen as their medical record system. The two hospitals use Epic for electronic records.

Even though Fort Worth ranks in the top 25 most populated cities in the United States, there is a real small-town feel to the city. The downtown area is vibrant, growing, and accessible. The more-residential neighborhoods boast low crime, and housing prices provide more bang for your buck than other large cities in Texas. Fort Worth’s dedication to preserving its rich history has become an industry of its own, especially in entertainment for residents and guests.
