The Department of Psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) has an outstanding opportunity for a BE/BC psychiatrist. We are facilitating a non-coercive, highly community-oriented treatment program, which will prevent hospitalization when possible, and return patients to community services as soon as feasible. The hospital is a major training site for the department’s residency training program, medical students, and other health profession’s trainees. This is a unique opportunity for a creative, energetic psychiatrist to treat, teach and advance their academic interests.
At Unity, the CAP will work on a dynamic, effective trauma-informed inpatient unit with a dedicated team. Unity is one of OHSU’s primary rotations for CAP fellows, Medical Students and NP students. Both settings create opportunities for collaboration, with other Child Psychiatrists and interdisciplinary patient care with a focus on biopsychosocial approaches to complex patient evaluations and treatment planning. The Division of Child and Adolescent is a leader in supporting Oregon’s efforts to improve the effectiveness of the continuum of care and there may be opportunities for advocacy at a local and state level.
