Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Internal Medicine Physician to join our well-established and hospital-employed practice located on the world-famous Kenai Peninsula. As an Outpatient Internal Medicine Physician, you will provide comprehensive medical care to adult patients in an outpatient setting. This position offers an excellent work-life balance with no call requirements and no weekend shifts.

Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough medical evaluations, diagnose illnesses, and develop individualized treatment plans for adult patients.
- Manage chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and respiratory disorders.
- Perform routine preventive care, including health screenings, vaccinations, and patient education.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory work, imaging studies, and electrocardiograms.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary medical team to coordinate patient care, including specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR) for all patient encounters and ensure compliance with documentation standards.
- Provide counseling and support to patients regarding lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, and disease management.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in internal medicine through continuing medical education (CME) activities and professional development.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the enhancement of patient care outcomes.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, protocols, and ethical standards to deliver safe, high-quality healthcare services.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of residency training in Internal Medicine from an accredited program.
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine.
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Alaska (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
- Excellent clinical skills with the ability to diagnose and manage a wide range of adult medical conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service.
