This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join the esteemed faculty at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso. The Department of Neurology is committed to excellence in patient care, education, and research. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a Neuromuscular or Clinical Neurophysiology Specialist to join our outpatient clinic and affiliated teaching hospitals to help grow our service line. Position Highlights:

  • Enjoy the flexibility of providing both inpatient and outpatient adult neurology clinical services including neuromuscular/clinical neurophysiology services, and consultation services in the affiliated hospitals.
  • Supervise resident clinics and actively participate in our comprehensive teaching program, contributing to the training and development of residents and medical students.
  • Diagnose and treat adults with neurological conditions, to include interpretation of routine EEGs/EMGs and treatment of a variety of peripheral nerve and muscle disorders.
  • Conduct an average of 5-10 EEGs and manage up to 4 continuous EEGs per day in the Epilepsy clinic further enhancing your diagnostic skills or average 5-10 patients in the ALS clinic.
  • Engages in the advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship
  • Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work
  • Contributes to the community through academically related public service complementary to the institutional mission

Minimum Qualifications:

§ MD or DO Degree

§ Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurology Residency Program

§ Texas Medical License, or be eligible for licensure in the state of Texas

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (Spanish and English)
  • Fellowship training in Neuromuscular Medicine/Clinical Neurophysiology from an accredited program in the United States
  • Board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Regional or emerging national recognition in the area of specialty for associate professor or higher level
  • Certification and/or experience in Neuromuscular Medicine/Clinical Neurophysiology
