New Survey Finds That Providers Are Increasingly Willing to Look at Changing Careers to Improve Their Quality of Life and Increase Their Compensation

This survey, conducted in April 2022, had more than 2,200 physicians and advanced practice provider professionals in various specialties respond. According to the survey, the top two reasons providers would change jobs are for 1.) a better quality of life (32.6%) and 2.) increased compensation (27.5%).

New Survey Finds That an Increase in Healthcare Providers Preferred to Live in Rural Areas During the Height of the Pandemic

Compared to 2019, the 2020 report found a 20 percent increase in the desire of healthcare providers preference in a rural community over a city, with an 18 percent decrease in preference in 2021. The Medicus Firm believes this is connected to pandemic-induced behavior of the desire to be living in a less populated environment and the increase interest in providing telehealth in 2020.

Survey Finds Healthcare Providers Have Lost Income and Are Less Likely to Make a Career Change

Over half (59%) of healthcare providers have experienced a decrease in income due to COVID-19, according to a recent survey. Physicians and advanced practice clinicians reported an average of 22% decrease in income compared to 2019. The survey is The Medicus Firm’s annual Practice Preference & Relocation Survey and is comprised of 2,464 responses from physicians and advanced practice clinicians across multiple specialties.
