Over half (59%) of healthcare providers have experienced a decrease in income due to COVID-19, according to a recent survey. Physicians and advanced practice clinicians reported an average of 22% decrease in income compared to 2019. The survey is The Medicus Firm’s annual Practice Preference & Relocation Survey and is comprised of 2,464 responses from physicians and advanced practice clinicians across multiple specialties.

The healthcare job market is showing some signs of return with new job openings, increased locum tenens usage, and less movement in new hire start dates. As well, over one-third (37%) reported they would extend job offers to physicians without conducting an onsite interview, according to a national survey. The survey was conducted by The Medicus Firm, a national physician and advanced practice clinician search firm. This survey provides insight on healthcare employers across the country and how their recruiting and staffing activities are being impacted by COVID-19.
